Cellular Mechanisms, Disease Processes, and Clinical Manifestations

NR 511 4 units 14 weeks

Course Overview

Pathophysiology prepares nurses to understand the cellular and systemic mechanisms underlying disease. Students examine altered cellular function, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, acid-base disorders, inflammation, immunity, and organ-specific pathologies across cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, endocrine, neurologic, and gastrointestinal systems. The course integrates clinical manifestations with diagnostic reasoning, preparing students to anticipate complications and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
